Michele Kurlanski, DPM
Dr. Michele Kurlanski is an experienced podiatrist with over 20 years in private practice. She is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Care. Dr. Kurlanski earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her foot and ankle surgical residency at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.
A former president of the Maine Podiatric Medical Association, Dr. Kurlanski transitioned to a direct care model to offer patients longer visits, more personalized treatment plans, and greater access to innovative, non-surgical therapies—all without the restrictions and limitations of insurance-based care. She is passionate about helping patients move better, feel stronger, and regain the confidence to live fully.

Cheryl
Medical Assistant and Orthotics Technician
Cheryl has been a valued member of the Lighthouse Foot and Ankle Center team since 2016. A Portland native and former Marine, Cheryl first joined us at the front desk before transitioning into clinical care as a medical assistant.
Today, she plays a vital role in delivering patient care, performing advanced laser treatments, and fabricating custom orthotics. Cheryl loves building relationships with our patients and takes pride in helping people move better, feel stronger, and live their best lives.
Her goal is to provide excellent service and compassionate support to every patient she meets. When she’s not in the office, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her two children and soaking up the sun at the beach.

Sheila
Remote Administrative Coordinator
Sheila has been a key member of the Lighthouse Foot and Ankle Center team for the past four years. Thanks to her expert coordination, patients experience a smooth, welcoming start to their care—and our office stays running quietly and efficiently behind the scenes.
Working remotely from the Philippines, Sheila schedules new patient appointments, assists with daily operations, and supports both Dr. Kurlanski and Cheryl to ensure the best possible patient experience. She originally trained as a Nurse-Midwife and graduated from the City University of Pasay in the Philippines.
Sheila’s attention to detail, dedication, and calm professionalism make her an essential part of the team, even from across the globe.
