Stop Toenail Fungus in Its Track

Although winter is here in southern Maine, it’s still very possible to catch a toenail fungus.

Wearing cold-weather shoes and boots creates the perfect environment for this type of fungus. They love warm, dark, and moist places like the inside of your shoes! Toenail fungus is also very contagious. You can pick it up at public pools, locker rooms, gyms, and spas.

Because it is so contagious, it is easy to spread. You may touch it and then your fingers and hands may become infected.

Symptoms of Fungal Nail

If one or more of your toenails has changed appearance recently, you may have fungal toenail.

The color of your nail may look different. It can appear discolored, yellowish or dull. Toenail texture changes too and may seem ragged, thickened, or split. Debris may build up under the nail and you may even notice an unpleasant odor.

Let Our Experts Treat Your Toenail Fungus

You may have tried over-the-counter products to deal with your fungal nail, but they only relieve the symptoms temporarily.

Our “go-to” solution is the KeryFlex™ Nail Restoration System. This new method will restore your damaged toenails to their original appearance. The KeryFlex™ system uses polymer resins that create a sturdy, artificial nail by bonding to your damaged toenails.

The KeryFlex™ procedure is painless, usually takes only about 15 minutes and can be done right here in our office.

After removing the damaged portion of the nail, we will apply a bonding agent and then the KeryFlex™ resin is brushed onto the nail bed. After hardening with ultraviolet light for a few minutes, we repeat the procedure and you are on your way to healthy, attractive toenails.

Best of all, there is no downtime with this treatment. You will be able to return to your normal activities right away and even get a pedicure!

If you have fungal nails, please give us a call to get started on the road to healthy toenails. Before you know it,
winter will be over and you will be proud to display your nails in spring
sandals!
