Your custom-fitted orthotics are an important part of your foot health, not to mention your leg, hip, and even your back health! Your orthotics are designed to last for many years, and they will if you take good care of them.

Custom-fitted orthotics are designed to support and comfort your feet, and only your feet! They have been manufactured to accommodate your unique foot structure and foot health needs.

How To Care for Your Orthotics

Your orthotics will stay in good shape and last as long as possible if you follow these commonsense care tips:

  • Use them wisely – to keep orthotics in their proper shape, wear them only in the shoes for which they were designed.

  • Don’t expose orthotics to excessive heat or direct sunlight.

  • Let your orthotics air every night outside of your shoes.

  • Wash vinyl-topped orthotics regularly with a mild soap and water solution applied with a clean cloth. Rinse lightly and let dry completely. Never dry orthotics in a clothes dryer or microwave.

  • Avoid cleaning with chemical solvents.

  • Only hand-wash orthotics – do not use a dishwasher or clothes washer.

If you experience an injury to your foot or have significant weight loss or gain, please come in for a visit so we can reassess your orthotics.

Custom-fitted orthotics can help with many foot problems, including heel pain and plantar fasciitis, flat feet, bunions, arch pain, chronic ankle sprains, or low back pain. Please ask us how orthotics can help relieve your foot or heel pain.
